Getting Results: Developing Safe and Healthy Kids is a collection of publications and services designed to help California school districts use research-based strategies in designing and implementing their alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention programs, as well as their youth violence prevention programs. Getting Results accomplishes this by engaging both leading researchers and practitioners in critically examining current research findings and their implications for schools.
You can find the following Getting Results research publications on the Downloads page: Getting Results Part ICalifornia Action Guide to Creating Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities, provides an overview of research-based strategies for preventing or reducing alcohol and other drug use, as well as violence.

In addition to research publications, Getting Results also provides quick fact sheets summarizing research, trainings through county offices of education, and facilitates task force meetings on important prevention topics to inform prevention efforts throughout the state. Getting Results, developed by Health & Education Communication Consultants (HECC), is one part of a comprehensive prevention effort from the Safe and Healthy Kids Program Office at the California Department of Education (CDE).
